Is spyware run by actual people who spy on you? Kind of. Spyware is a term used for small programs that "spy" on what you're doing and relay that information to the hacker who created that specific spyware application. For example, spyware could send the hacker any credit card numbers you enter when purchasing something online, or any passwords you use to login to a site, etc... Wow...that's just terrible. I wonder how they creat spyware anyways.

YAY Linux! I have absolutely no virus or spyware worries with this. Only thing is some stuff is harder to set up on here Reason why, for anybody interested, is Viruses and Spyware are aimed at Windows because so many people use it. Less than 1% of computers running now are Linux so no worries about people going out of their way to attack you. A Mac is similar but getting more popular so there actually is 1 virus out there for Mac users now.

And with WINE, I just use Ubuntu to run any questionable .exe files I may have.
