I decided to make a topic on this board for anyone to actually say anything about the unfortunate events in Arizona today.
I'll start....
A few minutes ago I was watching the news where it was showing the funeral of the youngest victim. Just nine years old. It hit me straight in the face, many people don't face this situation as they are either to young or fortunate enough.
However, for this family it must be devastating. I personally couldn't imagine the pain and suffering they must be going through. What that gunman did was extremely bang out of order and unfair. Taking a little girl away from her family is just unthinkable.
I am sorry for what has happened. I can't do anything about it but send me commiserations to those families (not just the nine year old) but to all those other victims families for how they must be feeling right now.

That actually happened a few days ago. Right now Congress is looking to push through some bills involving gun control (Can't have a gun within 1000 yds of a Gov official or something) but I think most of them are post trauma hysteria and really can't be controlled well enough to waste tax payer money on their time in congress to push through.

I actually hadn't heard the gun control bill. That's impossible to implement properly without completely removing guns from people as a (legal) concealed weapon.
But making it illegal to carry isn't going to stop somebody that's already planning on doing that from breaking the law anyway. So the laws are really useless (unless you completely remove concealed weapons) if you ask me. Maybe just tighten security at the events to begin with?

I think we need to tighten up on the ability to get guns and such, but it's costing taxpayer money just for Congress to talk about it. If we're going to work through gun control, the law makers need to be going in there well aware of, not whether or not a law would be good, but simply the ability for us to enforce the law. If you can't enforce it, then you have too many people with no ill intentions being fined, and anyone who was going to do harm anyway breaking the law regardless.

I find it a bit eerie that Palin made this: And Giffords was one of the crosshairs. Not to mention Palin removing all of it shortly after the shooting; before the identity of the shooter was discovered.
