Even fewer complaints there (that was at school, from my iPad). Also note the really low ping.

AT&T is really stepping it up, as it seems. Those numbers will probably be even higher for you once they put HSPA+ into the next iPad.
Overall, pretty happy with HSPA+ here.

Wow the 4S battery is really, really bad. Yeah, it's not as good as I was hoping for, but still a lot better than my Epic was.

Taped my microSIM card back into my 3GS SIM tray (yeah, surprised it work) until I get this 4S set up. Thinking I'll just have to restore it from a backup of my 3GS. Hopefully that won't make it any worst than it is.

Interesting how they put 4g up there considering that some places still get less than 3 Mbps on this hspa+

^ Nice!! now you can get some at&t hspa+/lte goodness! yum Hopefully! I was really torn between AT&T and Verizon on this one. I get Verizon LTE at my house, which means I'd have been able to really test it. Plus, their LTE network is definitely a lot bigger, but ultimately, it's come in handy having an AT&T iPad multiple times (when my Verizon 4S drops to 1x), so I stuck with AT&T. Definitely look forward to getting to test out LTE at some point! Also, I really hope AT&T allows the iPad's new hotspot feature from the get go. Gonna be a bit annoyed if I lose out on that as well. Sidenote: how is HSPA+ for you?

Sidenote: how is HSPA+ for you? I'm not sure if I'm going to get this new iPad (yet) as there are other things I kind of want to do ... but I was thinking the same thing. Verizon certainly has a stronger/larger LTE network than AT&T but the thing is, I'm not sure if it'll come unlocked or not. I know that the AT&T iPad does come unlocked, (well the old ones did) and that you can just go to a foreign country, buy a SIM and use the internet. The Verizon ipad has a SIM though so maybe it'll come unlocked ... who knows? I guess I'd rather lean towards AT&T though because I don't exactly get Verizon LTE here (I'm just outside of the boundaries for that down here ... darn!!) so AT&T HSPA+ will be more handy as something to fall back on, in the event that there's no LTE (which I assume would happen a lot). I think in the long run the at&t iPad will be the way to go because 4G isn't everywhere and falling back on AT&T's HSPA+ network is better than Verizon's 3G network. Not to mention, I think we can kind of assume that the next iphone will be LTE so ... yeah. Regardless, I have my iPhone so i don't really know if I need a 3G ipad or not. I certainly want one though ;D ;D HSPA+ is alright. My speeds average about 5-6 Mb/s which is alright. Some places it has hit 10 Mb/s. My 3GS only did 3 Mb/s so I'm pretty happy ... but day to day use I really don't see much of a difference. It's hard to tell if things load faster because of the processor/RAM or because of the network (in comparison to my 3GS). I think it's kind of silly that they put 4G in the network indicator on iOS 5.1. It's not really 4G .... and many places don't have the backhaul to push speeds any faster than 5 Mb/s. But then again, if Sprint can call <7 Mb/s (their Wimax) as 4G, I guess I can't blame AT&T since many people are hitting 7-10 Mb/s on AT&T HSPA+ depending on their location

I just noticed that it will say LTE next to the signal bars instead of 4G. Interesting. So I guess only the AT&T iPhone4S/iPad3(?) will be able to show 4G

Verizon's slow 3G network was another reason for going AT&T. I definitely get faster speeds (most of the time) on my AT&T iPad than I do on my Verizon 4S, and once I can get HSPA+ as well, I'm guessing those will only increase.

*sigh* No hotspot capability for the AT&T iPad (Verizon offers it on theirs).
They did say they were working with Apple to allow it, but that makes no sense. Seems like Apple shouldn't have anything to do with AT&T allowing it.

That's lame. Knowing how AT&T is they'll probably charge you for it or something. I think I'd go for Verizon then. The only reason I'd want an AT&T ipad is the ability to buy foreign SIMs and use 3G that way.
So what do you think of Mountain Lion? I'm not sure I'll upgrade, especially if it's $30. I'm never going to use those new features...
